Cairns Brothers have secured the signing of highly rated hooker Quinlyn Cannon for the 2021 season.

Cannon was a stand out performer for Brothers in the early part of the 2019 season, before moving to state cup outfit Northern Pride. However such was Cannon's impact on the CDRL that year; he took out the prestigious CDRL Gold Medal for A Grade Best and Fairest Player.

Speaking on the signing of Cannon, Football Club Manager Tim Rumford said " Quinlyn is a real talent and can have another big year in the CDRL. He has all the attributes to be a quality hooker - strong defence, very good distribution from dummy half and a good running game - Northern Pride have found themselves stacked with 9s this year, but at 22 Quinlyn has every chance of a return to the Intrust Super Cup down the line. We aim to help Quinlyn back to the form he showed in 2019 and I'm sure he'll be great for us."

Quinlyn will join A-Grade squad training sessions in December and is looking forward to playing at the club which he enjoyed a productive 2019. " It was a pretty easy decision to re-join Brothers . The club has always made me feel welcome and at home which I really appreciate. We have a great bunch of boys here and having Jordan leading us as captain coach job will come in handy - he's a good tactical player, hard trainer and the boys respect him - I can't wait to get into pre-season here at Brothers."

Meanwhile Brothers are on the look out for coaches and assistants for U18s and Reserve Grade teams - any coaches interested in joining the club should contact Tim Rumford (Football Manager) at rldevelopment@brotherscairns.com.au
