REUNION OF BROTHERS LEGENDS

BROTHERS REPRESENTATIVE LEGENDS REUNITE

Nostalgia visited Stan Williams Park today as Patty Baird joined1968 representative heroes Brian Bevan and Stan Williams for a yarn, a cup of tea, and a lot of laughs.

Getting on the plane to represent North Queensland  in 1968 and  heading to Brisbane for the Qld Trials, Cairns Brothers had three players present -  Hooker Brian Fitzsimmons, half Brian Bevan and lock Stan Williams, all three of whom were chosen as Queensland Representatives. 'Fitzy' went on to again be selected in the Australian Test side, playing France in a World Cup game on June 8th winning 37-4.

'Fruity', Brian and Stan talked over games played, won and lost with mates living and those not forgotten at Stan Williams Park.

Also in the touring side  was a young Barry Dawson from Suburbs, looking sharp in his suit, who would later lead Cairns Brothers to a Premiership 11 years later in 1979.
